300 years is a long time to be tucked up behind a sea wall, on the mouth of the Milford Haven waterway. The wind, the rain, the ocean and the snow have done their worst and every new century has brought its challenges. But despite it all, our doors have stayed open. We are the last pub standing in this small Pembrokeshire community where once there were 15 others. Our awards and our popularity are proof that we’ve never forgotten what it takes to make a person feel at home: real food, real ale and a real welcome.
With its traditional red quarry tiles, painted white stone walls, ancient beams and a crackling fire in winter, our traditional bar is where the busy world outside disappears. Your troubles left at the door.
Inside, we serve real Welsh ales, which change regularly, along with our own blonde ale, Cwrw Haf, brewed for us by Evan and Evans and available from Easter to October. We also serve fine wines, local gins, and other spirits and soft drinks to help wash cares away whilst you make friends with the people around you. Come for just one or stay for more, the welcome is always the same.
With its floor-to-ceiling glass walls, our modern restaurant spills wonderful views of the Pembrokeshire coast inside, so you can watch the shore and boats whatever the weather.
In spring and summer, the doors open out onto a small patio where you can eat and drink in the warmth of the sunshine as the rest of the world sails by. As autumn and winter creep in, we light the log burner bringing a flicker of heat to warm your chatter as the tide turns in the bay.
